In Canada’s unpredictable prairie farming landscape, trustworthy information and partnerships are the greatest value; for Western Canadian growers, Richardson Farms is where the two meet.

Located in Manitoba’s Red River Valley and Saskatchewan’s grain growing belt, Richardson Farms serve as Richardson International’s demonstration sites. Here, through the use of leading technology and real-world farming practices, they are designed to trial the latest seed, crop nutrition, crop protection, and emerging innovative products, as well as current commercially available products, under the same soil and climate conditions Western Canadian growers face every day — it’s a model that generates data relevant to a local farmer’s own operations and attracts thousands of annual visitors, including growers, Richardson Pioneer representatives, and industry leaders to see how solutions perform firsthand.

A major draw? New-to-market equipment and products contributed by a network of Farm Sponsors. These Farm Sponsor partnerships position Richardson Farms at the centre of field-tested demonstration. This important collaboration allows growers to evaluate both up-and-coming technologies and practices already in widespread use, creating a reliable source of information and building trust in the products and practices shaping the industry.

Richardson Farms’ first location, also known as Kelburn Farm, was established in 1997. Located in Howden, Manitoba, the demonstration site doubles as an event space, hosting industry-related gatherings each year.

Bennett Farm, Richardson Farms’ second location, opened in 2019 in Richardson, Saskatchewan. It houses the Richardson Pioneer divisional office and members of the agronomic solutions team, who share crop and field trial insights with our staff across Western Canada.

An example of how Richardson Farms showcases new and exciting ag technology: In 2024, Kelburn Farm hosted an exclusive demo of ONE SMART SPRAY, a not-yet-released herbicide spraying technology developed by BOSCH and BASF.
Thanks to Farm Sponsors like Mazergroup, Kelburn Farm is equipped with top-grade machinery for planting and harvesting its demonstration crops.
At Bennett Farm, it’s Farm Sponsors like John Deere that make each growing season possible, providing the latest equipment for demonstration purposes.

As Canadian growers continue to feed our world with the highest quality grain, Richardson Farms and its unique partnerships with suppliers is a resource. By equipping growers with credible and relevant data, Richardson Farms inspires informed decisions that support yield, sustainability, and innovation to push the industry forward.
